Empirical Reasoning Lab

The recently created Empirical Reasoning Lab (ERL) is designed to provide infrastructural support for empirical reasoning across the curriculum. Empirical reasoning focuses on critical thinking about numerical data and quantitative literacy.

For students, faculty, and staff, we offer consultations to help formulate empirical questions, find appropriate data sets, or offer guidance and training with analysis software. Contact us or check out our calendar for walk in hours.

We are located in 200 Lehman (2nd floor of the library at the south end of the building- or to the right when you exit the stairs/elevator).

For courses, we provide supplemetary training sessions focusing on how to use analysis software, how to find meaningful data sets, or how to use the libraries resources effectively for research. We can also help in the design of assignments that will incorporate Empirical Reasoning in the curriculum. Email the Manager of the Empirical Reasoning Lab, Heather Van Volkinburg or call at x19692.
