Introducing Martha Tenney, Our First Digital Archivist

Martha is thrilled to begin working as Barnard's first Digital Archivist. She comes to Barnard from the Human Rights Documentation Initiative, a digital archives that partners with organizations worldwide to digitize and make accessible important and vulnerable records of human rights struggles. She has also worked in digital archives at Democracy Now! and the Franklin Furnace Archive. Martha is a born and bred New Yorker but recently returned from two years in Austin, Texas, where she received her MSIS from the School of Information at the University of Texas (and ate plenty of barbecue and tacos). Martha holds her BA in Sociology from Wesleyan University. She is excited to begin working with faculty, students, staff, and alumnae, and welcomes everyone to the archives!
