Today is the last day of one of our two 2016/2017 Archives Fellows, Hannah Sistrunk. Hannah is a graduate of the Pratt Institute School of Information who has also worked as an Archives Assistant at the American Civil Liberties Union National Office. She has a background in professional archaeology and holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Along with Archives Fellow Cristina Fontánez Rodríguez, Hannah worked this year on the NEH grant project College Women: Documenting the Student Experience at the Seven Sisters Colleges, which included the digitization of early Barnard student scrapbooks for inclusion in the College Women Portal and Barnard's own Digital Collections. She and Cristina will be presenting a poster on their creation of a DIY, low-budget scrapbook digitization process on July 27th at the Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting in Portland, Oregon.
Hannah is beginning work this summer as Assistant Digital Archivist at the Rockefeller Archive Center in Sleepy Hollow, New York.
Thank you for all of your hard work, Hannah, and good luck in your new position!
