Librarian Jenna Freedman to give keynote address

This Friday, at NYU's Summoning the Archive Symposium, Barnard's Zine Librarian Jenna Freedman will give the keynote address, titled: Cited Ephemera: Zines in Research and Practice.

The conference is hosted by NYU’s Institute for Public Knowledge, with the intention of bringing together scholars and researchers from the "Social Sciences and Humanities around various methodologies and archival practices, and culminate with a Print Fest featuring several independent zines and presses."

Also included will be panel presentations on the following topics:  Archived Communities: Feminist and Queer Politics in Periodicals of the 60s, 70s and 80s, Memory & Material: The Digital Archive as Place, and Making the Cut: Radical Collage and the Performance of Failure.
