Barnard Archives and Special Collections and the Barnard Center for Research on Women (BCRW) are proud to announce the release of a new digital collection featuring materials from the founding of the Center: http://digitalcollections.barnard.edu/collections/bcrw
As the description notes:
"This selection of public and internal papers from the Center’s first year documents the fledgling research institution’s attempts to solidify its place within Barnard," as well as "a much quieter story about individual women, bound as much by friendship as they were by political conviction."
The image above is from a 1971 poster heralding the opening of the Women's Center, as BCRW was then called, and explaining its mission, as well as visually exploring the implications of the Center in a more imaginative realm. More materials from the BCRW's institutional collection are currently being digitized.
