Job Description

Barnard Library and Academic Information Services (BLAIS) seeks a Barnard student to assist the Exhibits Fellow with the research, design, and installation of an exhibition to be mounted in the new Milstein Teaching and Learning Center this fall. The exhibition will highlight alums who have made groundbreaking or otherwise noteworthy accomplishments in their fields or communities.

Exhibit assistant duties may include basic research, image sourcing, liaising with featured alums, writing and fact-checking copy, and exhibition installation. The assistant will report to the library’s Associate Director of Communications and will work alongside the Exhibits Fellow.

Preferred: experience with exhibition installation and/or curating, experience with Adobe InDesign and Illustrator. The ideal candidate will have the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. They will have solid writing skills, a sensitivity to the Barnard library's aesthetic and cultural identity, and the physical capabilities to work with exhibition installation tools and hardware.
