Tips on Acquiring Textbooks for Classes!

January 19, 2017

Today's tip, from BLAIS: how to borrow your required readings, instead of buying 'em!

As we all know, each semester a new stack of giant books is needed for class -

But wait! What if you could save a little, and find books - for free!

That's right - there are other ways to access these weighty volumes; and the Barnard librarians have come up with a handy checklist of where else to look, before you swap in your own personal dough.

Check out the checklist (https://library.barnard.edu/textbook-affordability) before you head to the bookstore. The Barnard Library, the Dean of Studies Office, and the Empirical Reasoning Center are partnering to do more research on the topic of course text affordability, and will be reporting back as they learn more.
