We are excited to announce the release of the 2015 issue of On Our Terms! Now in its third year, On Our Terms is an online, peer-reviewed undergraduate journal featuring scholarship by students seeking to enhance their generation’s discourse on the theme of women and leadership. All of the journal's content is open access – that is, freely available to the public. The journal is a collaborative endeavor between Barnard College’s Athena Center for Leadership Studies, the Center for Digital Research and Scholarship (CDRS) at Columbia University, and the Barnard Library--notably Art, Architecture and Urban Studies Librarian Heidi Winston.
The 2015 issue features four new essays:
Finding Common Ground: A Feminist Response to Men’s Rights Activism by Jacqueline Allain, University of Toronto
White and Beautiful: An Examination of Skin Whitening Practices and Female Empowerment in China by Evelyn Yeung, Arizona State University
Collective Compositions: From Spaces of Silence to Empowerment by Ashley Garner, Rutgers University
Progress Through Marginalization: Jewish Women at the Forefront of the German Women’s Movement by Alicia Hanau, Barnard College/Columbia University
