I Am Queen Mary Opening at The Milstein Center

La Vaughn Belle, artist and co-creator of I Am Queen Mary will be in conversation with Caribbean cultural anthropologist Tami Navarro, Assistant Professor of Pan-African Studies at Drew University. Students from Monica Miller’s Africana Studies Colloquium on Black European Cultural Studies will contribute readings from the dynamic archive that surrounds this tribute to Queen Mary Thomas, leader of the 1878 Fireburn rebellion that shook the Danish empire.
