Borrowing at Barnard
The high-level highlights: Any student, faculty or staff member can borrow our books, media and circulating zines. Regularly circulating materials have a one-semester loan period with unlimited renewals. Barnard materials do not incur fines.
Making Course Materials Affordable
We want to help students afford the resources you need to succeed in your courses. Our Course Reserves connect students with eresources for required materials requested by faculty, and our Barnard FLI Partnership Library lends select required texts for Barnard core courses to first-generation and/or low-income undergraduate students. All students can additionally borrow media and technology equipment, for course or personal use - please note that there are fines for late media equipment returns.
Archives & Special Collections
The Barnard Archives and Special Collections collects and makes accessible materials that document campus and academic life at Barnard, as well as histories of feminism and dance.
Zines
A zine, short for fanzine or magazine, is a DIY* subculture self-publication, usually made on paper and reproduced with a photocopier or print. Our zines consists primarily of zines written by women with an emphasis on zines by women of color, as well as zines on feminism and femme identity by people of all genders.
