To make hy-flex learning possible, 34 classrooms will be equipped with Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras.

AV Services staff, led by Patrick Eisenhauer, are preparing for a hybrid/flex model in the fall, where some faculty and students are on campus but others are remote. AV Integrators will upgrade 34 of our classrooms, including the Milstein center, before the start of fall semester. These upgrades will include instructor and student facing Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) cameras controlled through the AV touch panel and ceiling microphones to pick up all discussion in the classrooms.

The remainder of the classrooms, primarily the large lecture and event spaces, will be upgraded for robust video conferencing at a later date. Initially, AV Services will also upgrade six conference rooms for video conferencing in-house. AV will also set up portable equipment in spaces they are unable to upgrade this summer, along with non-traditional spaces that may be needed as classroom space.
